The United States is currently in uncharted economic territory. There are no easy solutions. Drastic measures will need to be taken by the next administration to get us back on course. The American people will likely be forced to bite the bullet to insure stability and security. Both McCain & Obama say they have plans to fix the problems, but does either candidate have what it takes to implement the potentially painful remedy?
INTERESTING FACTS:
1. There are approximately 8 to 20 million illegal immigrants working in the US.
- Most are paid less than minimum wage.
- Businesses that knowingly hire illegals are not paying payroll taxes.
- A large portion of illegal immigrant income is sent to Mexico.
- Their presence raises the cost of public eduction in the US.
- Their presence raises the cost of health care in the US.
- Over 300,000 illegals are convicted of crimes & imprisoned annually at the tax payer's expense.
2. Approximately 3 to 5 million American jobs have currently been shipped to foreign countries so that American companies can cut costs. How can other countries cut costs? They pay their employees far less than our minimum wage rates.
SUGGESTIONS (for the Next Administration and Congress):
1. Hit the RESET button on immigration
- Build the wall
- Temporarily freeze all immigration
- Deport as many illegal immigrants as possible over a 5 yr period (starting with the criminals). - Offer a work visa to all remaining immigrants.
- Revise all federal and state immigration regulations to ensure equality
2. Eliminate Minimum Wage requirements for immigrants in specific/limited circumstances
- But require & enforce EXTREMELY humane working conditions
3. Provide tax incentives for American businesses to bring back outsourced jobs
4. Provide tax incentives for entrepreneur's to create "outsourcing" opportunities within the US
5. Encourage US citizens to buy "American" again
